Authorisation to open a pharmacy

The number of pharmacies that may open is fixed for each health district. Applications are only admissible during an annual campaign, and they are ranked together when it closes, against a points table published before it opened. A share of the places is reserved for under-served districts.

Version 1

Filing is not open

This procedure is only open during a campaign. The number of places, the dates and the points table are set by order and published before it opens; they cannot change once anybody has filed.

No campaign is announced at the moment.

What it allows

Who may apply

A pharmacist on the council’s register, with two years of practice since registration, who operates no other pharmacy.

If the answer is no

The ranking, the points table and the list of allocated places are published when the campaign closes, before the decisions. An appeal may be made to the minister responsible for health within two months of notification, and then to the administrative court. Contesting a ranking means contesting the points table or the arithmetic: both are published.
